I agree that we can never know anything with certainty and that every statement about the real world is an approximation, but what I wish we could change is the seemingly accepted practice of deliberately and knowingly lying in order to deceive others for personal gain. Mining companies funding doctorates dependent on an outcome of casting doubt on anthropogenic climate change before the research even begins is a prime example.
Hunter gathering societies live in balance with other species, do not harm the biosphere and I imagine have far less need for deceitful behaviour than “civilised’ societies which are based on competition and unlimited growth.
The biosphere tries to take care of its own, but what happens when the environment cannot cope with a species?
