My foster kittens

A cliché kitten’s velvety paw
pats my arm with gentle pressure
as he gazes at my eyes and slowly blinks.
A cloud of love billows and swells,
sweeping me away from myself.

The kittens play-fight for hours,
using my body as their terrain.
Softest soft against my skin, until the claws come out.
Needles pierce the cloud. The pain is real.
